The defense team is going through text messages between Sean “Diddy” Combs and his former assistant Mia. In 2018, Mia texted Combs during the Christmas and New Year’s holidays.

“Merry Christmas love you so so much,” Mia wrote in one text.

She had just seen Combs at Kim Porter’s funeral, Mia testified. Porter, who shared three children with Combs, died in November 2018.

A few weeks later, on January 15, 2019, Mia texted Combs that she was thinking about him because she had a nightmare that she was trapped in an elevator with R. Kelly and Combs saved her, according to message.

In March 2019, Mia texted Combs saying she was sending him “all the love in the world.”

Defense attorney Brian Steel asked Mia if she was still under Combs’ grip at that time, since she wasn’t working for him anymore. She said that she still was “psychologically.”

“Also, Puff used to be my protector,” she testified, referring to Combs by his nickname.

“Also, these were based around tragic events that happened in his life,” Mia added, pointing out that the text was sent within a few months of Porter’s death.

Mia also texted Combs in December 2019, writing that she was sending love to him and his family. She testified that she sent the message on Porter’s birthday.
