SAO PAULO, March 25 (Reuters) – Former Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro is ‌expected to be discharged from ‌hospital on Friday, the doctor treating him told ​reporters on Wednesday, adding that Bolsonaro may require shoulder surgery in the future.

* Bolsonaro, 71, has been ‌hospitalized since March ⁠13 fortreatment of an acute form of pneumonia. * The ⁠former president underwent tests after reporting painin his right shoulder, with initial ​assessments suggesting ​hemay need ​surgery in the ‌future, lead doctor Brasil Caiado said. * The injury might have been aggravated by a fall inJanuary, in which Bolsonaro hit his head, Caiado said. * ‌Bolsonaro has been serving ​a 27-year prison ​sentence sinceNovember ​for plotting a coup. * On ‌Tuesday, Supreme Court Justice ​Alexandre de ​Moraesgranted him permission to serve his sentence under house arrestfor 90 ​days ‌due to health concerns.
