Do the AirPods Pro 2 need a case cover?
The AirPods Pro 2 come with a USB-C charging case (Apple previously sold a Lightning version, but it’s no longer available). For some users, the included case offers enough protection for everyday use. That said, a case cover can go a long way in preventing scratches, cracks, and other damage to the charging case itself. Many covers also add useful extras, such as improved water resistance, built-in clips or lanyards to reduce the risk of losing them, and a wider range of colors and materials to give your AirPods Pro a bit more personality.
Do the AirPods Pro 2 use a different charging case than the first-gen model?
The charging case for Apple’s second-generation AirPods Pro differs slightly from that of the first-generation model. The newer model features a USB-C charging port instead of Lightning and offers IPX4 weather resistance.

However, some thick protective case covers can prevent the magnets from working. If MagSafe charging is important to you, be sure to select a case cover that is listed as MagSafe compatible.
Can you buy a replacement AirPods Pro 2 charging case?

However, if you lose or damage the charging case itself, you can purchase a replacement through Apple’s Repair and Service platform. At the time of writing, a replacement charging case costs $99.
