I’ve been quietly outsourcing more and more of my life to AI. It started with work tasks and writing prompts. AI even helped me land my latest job. Now, with “agentic AI” and autonomous agents making headlines, the possibilities have multiplied. So, I started to wonder: if AI is so good at optimizing my professional life, could it do the same for my personal one? Could ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or Grok plan my week better than I could? Would it make me more connected or just more robotic? Would people notice a difference? Would I care?I decided to run the experiment,…
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) — Administrators at the state university’s campus in Colorado Springs thought they stood a solid chance of dodging the Trump administration’s offensive on higher education.Located on a picturesque bluff with a stunning view of Pikes Peak, the school is far removed from the Ivy League colleges that have drawn President Donald Trump’s ire. Most of its students are commuters, getting degrees while holding down full-time jobs. Students and faculty alike describe the university, which is in a conservative part of a blue state, as politically subdued, if not apolitical. That optimism was misplaced. An Associated Press review…
LONDON (AP) — Tottenham continued its flying start to the Premier League season under new coach Thomas Frank as Brennan Johnson and Joao Palhinha secured an impressive 2-0 victory at Manchester City on Saturday. It was an afternoon to forget for City goalkeeper James Trafford.Spurs scored four without reply at City last season and this time celebrated a 2-0 triumph as on-loan Palhinha capitalized on a mistake by home debutant Trafford shortly after Johnson had opened the scoring.Tottenham deserve the plaudits but much of the post-match analysis will surround goalkeeper Trafford, who returned to the Etihad Stadium this summer in…

OpenAI CEO Sam Altman has given renewed voice to concerns about an AI bubble. Altman recently told reporters that investors are “overexcited” about AI. There’s disagreement, even among business leaders and tech CEOs, around the existence of a bubble. It’s AI summer, but some business leaders seem concerned that…
When Sally Nix found out that her health insurance company wouldn’t pay for an expensive, doctor-recommended treatment to ease her neurological pain, she prepared for battle. It took years, a chain of conflicting decisions, and a health insurer switch before she finally won approval. She started treatment in January and now channels time and energy into helping other patients fight denials.“One of the things I tell people when they come to me is: ‘Don’t panic. This isn’t a final no,’” said Nix, 55, of Statesville, North Carolina. To control costs, nearly all health insurers use a system called prior authorization, which requires…
MOUNT GRETNA, Pa. (AP) — It takes a 54-page pamphlet to list all the classes, concerts, outdoor recreation and other self-improvement and entertainment going on at the Pennsylvania Chautauqua in Mount Gretna this summer. The area springs to life every June, July and August, when a year-round population of about 1,000 more than doubles and thousands more crowd in for big events. The picturesque front porches that define the town are abuzz with energetic cottagers who punctuate their days with cooking lessons, nature walks, yoga, professorial lectures, music and plays. In short, it’s kind of a summer camp for the sort…
SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) — Braxton Kimura dreads eating at restaurants. The California teenager is severely allergic to peanuts, shellfish and most tree nuts. Consuming even a tiny amount could send him to the emergency room.“Eating out is definitely really dangerous. It’s something that I try to avoid,” Kimura, 17, said at his home in San Jose. “When dining out, obviously I always bring my EpiPens, and I’m really nervous all the time.”Restaurant dining in California could soon become a little less stressful for Braxton and the growing number of Americans with severe food allergies.State lawmakers are set to vote…
