Apple teased “big” Apple Fitness+ updates planned for 2026 on Instagram.
The service offers instructor-led classes, on-demand videos, and health metrics.
Apple Fitness+ launched in 2020 and expanded to 28 new markets in December.

Apple is soft-launching big plans for its fitness platform in 2026.

On Wednesday, the tech giant teased an update to its Apple Fitness+ service on Instagram coming in the new year. The changes could arrive as soon as January, according to the video.

“Word on the street is that Apple Fitness+ has big plans for 2026… stay tuned!” the caption reads.

The ad featured Apple Fitness+ trainers Bakari Williams, Molly Fox, and Dice Iida-Klein holding newspapers with headlines that suggested major changes. Although Apple didn’t share details of what’s to come in 2026, some commenters shared what they want to see and speculated on what could be coming.

Some Instagram users commented asking Apple to make small updates, such as reducing the music in workout videos or adding the ability to skip back and forth between workouts. Others asked for more programs to choose from.

Apple Fitness+ is a subscription-based digital fitness platform that includes instructor-led classes, on-demand workout videos, and health and fitness metrics. It competes with similar offerings from companies like Peloton. Apple Fitness+ launched in 2020, and Apple expanded it into 28 new markets in December. It costs $9.99 a month or $79.99 annually in the US.

Although Apple doesn’t report how many users pay for Apple Fitness+, its Services division, which includes those subscribers, hit an all-time high in revenue during its fourth quarter of fiscal 2025.

Apple has also teased other major product reveals coming in 2026, including an upgrade to its virtual assistant Siri.

Apple didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment from Business Insider.
